Bernie Sanders choked back tears as his brother cast his vote at the DNC

It was a special moment for Bernie Sanders as roll call began for the now democratic nominee, Hillary Clinton at the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia, Pa., on Tuesday evening.

An emotional Larry Sanders voted for his brother as a delegate in the Democrats Abroad. As he cast his vote, Larry mentioned their parents and how proud they would have been of Bernie.

“I want to bring before this convention the names of our parents: Eli Sanders, Dorothy Sanders,” Larry said.

“They did not have easy lives, and they died young. They would be immensely proud of their son and his accomplishments. They loved him.”

He continued saying, “They loved the New Deal of Franklin Roosevelt and would be especially proud that Bernard is pursuing that vision. It is with enormous pride that I cast my vote for Bernie Sanders.”

Shortly after, the camera zoomed in on Bernie, next to his wife Jane as he choked up after hearing Larry speak.
