Donald Trump Jr. Rips Anthony Weiner’s Mayoral Mock in Exactly the Way You’d Expect

Tensions were high Tuesday after former New York Congressman Anthony Weiner told a reporter that if Donald Trump Jr. were to run for New York City mayor, he would “come out of retirement just to beat him like a rented mule.”

The comment from the disgraced former congressman came Tuesday afternoon on the second day of the Democratic National Convention in Philadelphia.

Trump Jr. appeared on CNN’s “State of the Union” Sunday where host Jake Tapper asked the son of the Republican presidential nominee if he’d ever consider running for mayor.

“I never like to rule anything out, Jake,” Trump Jr. said, noting that he and his father “always like to keep our options open.”

Shortly after Weiner made his “rented mule” comment, Trump Jr. shot back with a tweet alluding to the sexting scandal that led to his resignation from Congress in 2011 and ruined his 2013 mayoral run, when it was revealed Weiner was still sending lewd messages to women using the nom de cyber “Carlos Danger.”

Following Trump Jr.’s comment, folks on Twitter appeared delighted to relive the social media glory days of the Weiner scandals.
