It didn’t take long for Hillary Clinton to hit Donald Trump during her big DNC speech

Former First Lady and Secretary of State Hillary Clinton addressed the Democratic National Convention on Thursday night for the first time as the party’s nominee. After accepting the Democratic Party’s nomination, Clinton was quick to contrast her platform of unity with Trump’s “I alone” philosophy of getting things done.

“He wants to divide us — from the rest of the world, and from each other. He’s betting that the perils of today’s world will blind us to its unlimited promise. He’s taken the Republican Party a long way, from morning in America to midnight in America,” Clinton said of Trump, before later adding, “Every generation of Americans has come together to make our country freer, fairer, and stronger. None of us can do it alone. That’s why we are stronger together.”

After going after Trump’s RNC speech, which lasted “70-odd minutes” and where “he offered zero solutions,” Clinton went on to attack Trump for lacking the demeanor to lead America in times of crisis.

“Does Donald Trump have the temperament to be Commander-in-Chief? Donald Trump can’t even handle the rough-and-tumble of a presidential campaign,” Clinton said. “He loses his cool at the slightest provocation. When he’s gotten a tough question from a reporter. When he’s challenged in a debate. When he sees a protestor at a rally. Imagine him in the Oval Office facing a real crisis. A man you can bait with a tweet is not a man we can trust with nuclear weapons.”

Clinton concluded her criticism of Trump by attacking his stances on gun rights and civil rights, which culminated in what she views as a general sense of divisiveness.

“And in the end, it comes down to what Donald Trump doesn’t get: that America is great – because America is good. So enough with the bigotry and bombast. Donald Trump’s not offering real change,” Clinton said.

On Tuesday, Clinton reached the magic number of 2,382 votes to clinch the Democratic nomination, with South Dakota putting her over the top.

Later that night, a presidential slideshow led up to Clinton appearing on the big screen to the effect of breaking the glass ceiling.
