Trump Looks Directly at Camera and Sends Message to Russia About ‘Missing’ Clinton Emails

PHILADELPHIA — Republican presidential nominee Donald Trump on Wednesday invited hackers from Russia to look for emails that were deleted from Democratic nominee Hillary Clinton’s private server.

“Russia, if you’re listening, I hope you’re able to find the 30,000 emails that are missing,” Trump said during a press conference in Doral, Fla. “I think you will probably be rewarded mightily be our press.”

Trump’s comments came the day after Clinton was officially nominated by the Democratic Party in Philadelphia. He also said that Democratic National Committee chair Debbie Wasserman Schultz had “totally rigged” the election in Clinton’s favor and that Democratic candidate Sen. Bernie Sanders “never had a chance.”

The reference to Russian hackers was a nod to the hack of DNC emails last week, which showed apparent favoritism for Clinton. U.S. intelligence officials have signaled that the DNC hack was likely perpetrated by Russian hackers.
